The Purpose of the Workshops
|
To
hold a Solvent Extraction Workshop of "experts" in the areas of
R&D, engineering and
applications. Such a meeting of experts would:

Critically
review the individual areas of concern in the consideration of solvent
extraction -- from R&D through to its industrial scale-up and
to plant processing |
|
|
Provide
a closer interaction between chemistry, engineering, process development,
plant design and construction
than is possible in the usual, large international meetings |
|
|
Improve
the communication between the R&D scientists and engineers and the engineering
contractors to optimize the design of future solvent extraction
operations |
|
|
Transfer
the conclusions of this meeting to ISEC conferences, thus providing some
guidance to future R&D and plant design |
|
|
To
provide a document for wide circulation amongst practitioners |
|
The
meetings should bring together the expertise in all phases of chemistry of the
process, the chemical engineering expertise, process design and interface with
chemistry and engineering, design and procurement engineers for scale-up to
industrial plants, and the plant
operators with their problems and solutions.
